In reading my group has being learning about the ways you can find words meanings. So we read a story from a School Journal called "The Desert Kaupoi" and picked words that we did not know the meaning of and then found the meaning of the word either online or in a book. Here is an example...
Ancestor-A mother or father that is descended.
Battalion-Army of two or more companies.
Decorated-Mark of distinction.
